Description Technical Specs Extended Information

The G7 BR2 (Ballistic Rangefinder 2000) rangefinder has achieved the most significant milestone in laser rangefinder technology since their introduction to the hunting industry. The BR2 model is the first rangefinder to feature a real time ballistic calculation that accepts your specific bullet Ballistic Coefficient and Muzzle Velocity as inputs to build a custom ballistic profile, and then calculate a real time ballistic solution.

Developments in sensor technology along with dozens of other patented technologies give the G7 BR2 eye safe ranging capabilities beyond 2000 yards. By utilizing the G7 ballistic engine, the G7 BR2 is able to utilize measurements of line of sight range, incline angle, air density (temperature and elevation), and compass heading to complete a ballistic calculation of the Shoot To range for your custom bullet drop compensating reticle or turret. “Just range it and dial it” has never been so simple or precise. Wind Compensation is a core function of all G7 products and the BR2 rangefinder is no exception with patent pending compensation technology. MOA wind correction values are calculated and easily accessed to display the correction for different wind values.

The G7 BR2 has the capability to provide a calculated firing solution out to 1400 yards and can output this solution as either an MOA, Inches, or yardage solution to be dialed on your custom turret. This provides the ultimate in accuracy and efficiency in field-use scenarios. See the "extended info" tab for more information.

Grouse River is the exclusive supplier of G7 products in Canada and can custom program your rangefinder prior to shipment with the specific details of your caliber, load, and ballistic turret. Up to 5 custom profiles can be input into the unit to be called upon by the user.

G7BR2 Rangefinder March 7, 2013

Absolutely awesome product. Works exactly as advertised. My only complaint is that the product cannot be dimmed enough for early morning or late evening. The display lighting almost completely blocks out the target making it difficult or impossible to acquire a correct range in these low light conditions.

Grouse River Field Tested December 9, 2011
Reviewer: Grouse River Gear Tests from Kelowna, BC Canada
In our field use the G7 BR2 consistently ranged targets at a mile and beyond. Ranging 2km from a steady position was common even in bright sun and 2.5km+ was possible in ideal conditions.
We tested the firing solutions by pairing it with a variety of accurate rifles and aiming solutions including MOA turrets, BDC turrets/reticles. We also compared the outputs against a variety of common ballistics calculators and against the Kestrel Meter with Horus ballistics software.  Our verdict is that the G7 BR2 provides a precise firing solution in field conditions allowing for extremely quick targeting out to the 1400 yd max compensation range.
Ultimately we found ourselves combining the G7 with the Kestrel unit to gain 3 key advantages in the field. 1)We always had a cross-reference for our firing solution 2)The Kestrel can measure the wind and provide a solution to compensate for it 3)The Kestrel works for shooting 1400+ yards based on inputting the rangefinder's distance result.
